Is Master Chief in fact female? That would be a nice Metroid-like surprise for a lot of gamers...

lol, BrokenSymmetry

Yeah, I've got a Fem Mo/E and I roleplay with her, but she's... violent. I think that scares most of the n00bs away.

I also saw the most disturbing thing in Ascalon. This Female Ele had told some ppl that she was a she in RL. When I saw her, she had this mob of male characters chasing after her, and any time she stopped, they'd surround her and start dancing. Then the clothes came off. *shudder* To quote the Ele:

"Do they think that'll get them a date? Morons..."

Lol. In response to another thread I think I inadvertently ranted about the same thing you did Detis. And yes you're not the only one. I also copped flak for playing a female character:

Random guy: Hey Mylisa, are you a girl?
Mylisa Cryptcrawl (my female character): No.
Random guy: WTF? Why the hell did you pick a girl's name for your character then?
Mylisa Cryptcrawl: Because my character is female?

Fortunately it didn't go any further from there - I just hope the concept of a "role-playing character" didn't cause his brain to start haemorrhaghing...

from the way you use the word "gay" as a derogitory term, and your outlook here.... i would say you have personal issues that prevent you from really adding anything to this kinda conversation.

wife 2 kids, 3rd on the way and i tend to play predominantly female characters... most games tend to make thier male models extreme characitures. warrior is a hulking brute, rogue/archer is a legolas clone etc... while many of them also have female models of extremes.... at least they are pleasant ones

the male monk in GW has a very nice model, thats one i like. the rest of the male models..... please. hulking beer bellied brute, death metal reject, effeminate pansy, legolas clone, backstreet boy that riverdances? seriously now.

some of the female models are a bit much... female ele being the first that comes to mind, but often thats a matter of "armor" more than the character model.

long story short... if you have issues with this, step away from the keyboard till you grow up a little.

I understand that's not you but I don't understand the whole "That's gay" -.o; Is it just a put down like "I don't like that that's gay" as in an insult? Or you think a mature adult roleplaying the opposite sex is actually homosexual.

XD Just thought if it was the second part a woman playing as a male would be lesbian?
(Sorry just thought it was a funny concept. lol Don't need to answer that)

Well you are using a gender-neutral name.

I guess this is bound to happen. I usually assume all PC's I met are male because most MMO players are male. I know I'll get it wrong sometimes but most of the time, this is the correct assumption.

Yeah pretty much the same with me. I mean you can't go around referring people as "it" can you? :P Alternatively I guess I could go around asking what sex everyone is before playing a mission/quest but I'm sure some girls would be uncomfortable doing that (since there are a lot of young teenage males who would *love* to pester a girl with lame pick-up lines).

OH DEAR GOD!!! You mean to tell me that all these hotties running around in Ascalon and Lion's Arch...could be men in disguise. Well I'm just digusted! What kind of man does such a thing?!?!!? GOD HATES CROSS DRESSERS!!! BURN IN HELL SINNERS!!!!

Anyway whatever floats your boat I think. I don't play female characters but thats just because I don't get into games to make more than one character mostly.

I still think its funny when some guy will type into the Chat box:
"I need a Girlfriend"
I always just think...yeah man...you do.

Oh one of the best was:
"Hot stud W/Mo Looking for W/ Girls"

Actually I think the main reason I chose a female character to complement my other 3 male characters was so I could judge the quality of voice-acting done by the female voice actor during cut-scenes. It's just as bad as her male counter-part in some situations . Plus I reckon the female necromancer has got the funniest dance in the game .

Role-playing as a female is gay hmm? Well I guess that means Anthony Hopkins aspires to be a serial killer who enjoys cannibalism and Tom Hanks would love nothing more to have an IQ of 75? They're acting as Hannibal Lector and Forrest Gump respectively, but does that mean they secretly want to be like them? As I've mentioned before (in here or another thread) read the dictionary and find out what "role-playing" means which happens to be the first two letters in RPG.

I like playing guy characters.

Because I always try to create the most awesomerest looking me if I were the character.

And I'm not a girl.

So if I created a female character it'd be like.

"...I'm a girl? ...not last time I checked."

Also, think about it.

I'm PieXags.

PieXags is not a girl, and I don't want you to see one when you see me in all my brilliance in-game.

W: Are you a girl?
Me: Why?
W: Just curious (but he did a jc)
Me: Why does that have to do with anything?
W: Are you a girl?
Me: Nope.

And then he finally left me alone. XD kids.

Posted somewhere else just thought it was proper in here too

I have male and female characters. Being a bloke myself, I have to say I prefer looking at a womans arse to a mans so if anyone has a problem with me picking a female character - solely for this perverted reason - feel free to give me s**t
